Yes, I Am Making Progress
13.08.08 @ 12:32 pmIt has been around a week since I wrote that this blog was going through a redesign. Unfortunately, until then, I was most likely be writing about the its progress. Still, I thought it may be interesting for some to read snippets of where it is in the process.
At this moment, wireframes are around 80% complete - which sounds good - however, because of the 80/20 rule, that means that I am still a long way off. I have tried to scatter my work around so as to diminish the potential for tunnel-vision on some aspects of the design, so I took some time to begin on some necessary icons. Up to this point, the vast majority of traffic to this site funnels through two icon sets I made a while back. Ironically, those sets took all but 2-3 hours to make whereas this set is taking much longer.
Here’s a preview of some icons:
One of the reasons this is taking so long is because I am trying to avoid rushing through any part of the process for this redesign. I am finding that increasingly frustrating due to the time I know this is going to take to complete, but it is about time that I completed a personal project to its end with all the corners buffed. I am guessing this icon set will at least double or triple in size by the time it is completed, but good progress is being made.
I will continue to post small pieces of work until launch. I am positive that is the only type of update you will see until I am done with this.bitcons, blog, icons, launch, personal project, redesign, sansons, small pieces, snippets, traffic tunnel vision

It’s really looking good. The fact that you are designing the blog from the ground up is astounding and something that I would love to do but I am afraid I have to stick to tweaking free themes, and that in a very limited way. Well done.

I like the minimalist design. Regina captures the essence well…sharp and readable, but roundy and quirky.
If you are in the middle of reworking the site, a little left margin would be great. Your blog entries, at least in IE, are hugging the windows frame on the browser, and it’s distracting.
